Back to Basics has published its first voluntary sustainability report, prepared in accordance with the VSME (Voluntary Sustainability Reporting Standard for SMEs).
The report covers the 2024/2025 financial year and provides an overview of our environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices. It establishes a baseline for our future sustainability work and reflects our commitment to transparency and continuous improvement.

VSME (Voluntary Sustainability Reporting Standard for SMEs) is a voluntary framework designed specifically for small and medium-sized enterprises. It focuses on clear, relevant, and proportionate sustainability reporting.
VSME aligns with the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) under the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), helping SMEs provide valuable ESG data and support larger clients’ compliance.
At Back to Basics, we see sustainability as a fundamental responsibility and an essential part of how we operate our business. This report reflects our commitment to taking care of both the environment and the people we work with.
We recognize that meaningful change does not happen overnight. It requires continuous effort and a consistent focus on improvement. We adjust different parameters to make our business better. Sometimes these are big shifts, and other times they are small refinements. But every step is a part of our responsibility and brings us closer to a more sustainable way of working.
The VSME standard has been selected as the framework for our sustainability reporting, providing clear insights into our environmental, social and governance practices (ESG), supporting both our own ESG strategy and the sustainability requirements of our clients, while also building a foundation for long-term resilience.
For us, sustainability is not optional—it is a responsibility. This is not just a reporting exercise; it is about creating a future-proof business model and embedding responsibility into our daily operations and decision-making.
Thank you for joining us on this journey.
